Carter specializes in the sale of multifamily property in Colorado and with more than 25 years of experience in multifamily brokerage, market research and investments, Carter has sold more than 30 percent of all 10+ unit complexes in the Colorado Springs market. Carter recently sold a record 40% of all multifamily properties sales in 12 months; including the largest multifamily property sale in Colorado Springs’ history. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Carter served as senior marketing consultant for Grubb & Ellis and Hendricks & Partners. For over 25 years, Carter has been conducting the city’s Apartment Market Report, a rent and vacancy survey widely recognized as the most thorough and reliable publication of its type in Colorado Springs. Carter is a member of the Apartment Association of Colorado Springs and was twice elected the organization’s president. He is the past president of the Partners in Housing Board of Directors, a charitable transitional housing program for potentially homeless families. Additionally, Carter was a co-founder and treasurer of the Trails, Open Space and Parks Political Action Committee. Carter earned a Bachelor of Science in real estate and finance from the University of Denver. He is a graduate of the Citizen’s Goals Leadership 2000 Program, a civic group of Colorado Spring’s outstanding leaders and was recognized as a "Top 25 Influential People in Commercial Real Estate" by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
