With more than 22 years of commercial real estate experience, Ellwanger has completed more than 220 transactions valued in excess of $400 million. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Ellwanger served as vice president of the Ellwanger Corporation, a mechanical contractor company specializing in schools, shopping centers and hospitals. Under his direction, the company grew to be one of the top 200 firms in the United States. He went on to serve as a broker for Coldwell Banker Commercial and was the Number One Commercial Broker for the year 2000. Since joining Sperry Van Ness in 2001, Ellwanger has received substantial recognition within the company. He received the Sperry Van Ness Achiever Award in 2001, 2003, 2004 and continues to rank amongst the top five percent of all brokers in the company nationwide. He earned the prestigious Sperry Van Ness Partner’s Circle Award in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007, as well as the Outstanding Client Satisfaction Award in 2002. Due to his extensive background in retail investment transactions, Ellwanger has been responsible for several key transactions. His recent accomplishments include: Park Plaza Retail Center in Sacramento, Lakeside Retail Center in Stockton, Penn Valley Retail Center in Grass Valley, Village Festival Retail Center in Atlanta Georgia, Lake Mead Retail in Las Vegas Nevada, Lincoln Ridge Retail in Lincoln California, the Antelope/Sunrise Retail Center in Sacramento and the $37 million Yuba City Market Place. Ellwanger is a California native and is actively involved in his community. He is currently affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Association of Commercial Real Estate (ACRE). He served on the Franklin School Board in Sutter County and is a former member of the Sutter County Sheriff’s Posse.
