Biography
|
Heather Hamilton, MBA, CHB is the Managing Director of Sperry Van Ness/Spectrum Commercial Group, Inc. a full-service commercial brokerage firm specializing in mid-scale, distressed, niche and resort properties. Formed in 1990, the firm has expertise in all facets of income producing property including office, industrial, retail and multifamily. The firm is recognized for its award-winning service, specialized marketing materials and dedication to clients’ needs. Based in Austin, Texas, Spectrum brokers have successfully advised and sold properties for clients in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, totally in excess of $230 million. Since 2000, Heather has helped clients successfully close on over $75 million in hotel transactions. Of that, nearly $40 million in sales have occurred since 2006.
Heather has over 22 years experience in commercial real estate. National corporate clients include Wyndham Worldwide, Red Roof Inns, and La Quinta Inns. Heather has authored numerous articles or has been quoted in national real estate publications including National Real Estate Investor and Real Estate Forum Magazine. She has served on industry panels including the prestigious New York University International Hospitality Investment Conference, the Hunter Investment Conference, and the Lodging Conference.
Heather has served as the President of Hotel Brokers International (HBI), one of the industry’s leading hotel broker associations. She was only the 2nd female member of the association to have been elected President since the formation of the association in 1959. Heather actively served on HBI’s Board of Directors for a total of eight years.
Heather holds the Certified Hotel Broker (CHB) designation and was one of only three in her class to graduate with distinction for which she was awarded the Red Roof Inn Distinguished Broker Award.
In 2006, Heather and partners purchased a 315-room full-service hotel in downtown San Antonio which has undergone a complete renovation amounting to nearly $3.5 million in improvements.
Heather is a graduate, with honors, of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and holds an MBA with an emphasis in real estate from The University of Texas at Austin. |
