Biography
|
C. Sterling Scott, CCIM, serves as the Managing Director for Sperry Van Ness / Encompass Commercial Realtors in Fairway, Kansas. Sterling is licensed in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska and with more than 23 years of industry experience has brokered over 500 commercial transactions totaling over $200 million in investment funds.
Prior to affiliating with Sperry Van Ness, Sterling owned and operated an independent commercial real estate firm for more than 18 years, gaining experience in sales and leasing with several property types including: retail, office, multifamily, and industrial. He has brokered transactions with many of the governmental agencies including the GSA, the State of Missouri, Kansas City International Airport, the City of Parkville, the Platte County Missouri Health Center, the Platte County License Bureau and Platte County Parks. He has also brokered numerous transactions with national retailers including; Taco Bell, IHOP, Outback, Honda, Nissan, Lexus, Gordmans, and Walgreens, as well as more than one million square feet of additional inline retail space.
Along with his brokerage activities, Sterling has assembled numerous commercial as well as residential developments and has overseen the operations of various commercial and residential associations. He has represented numerous lending institutions and bankruptcy courts in receivership and disposition capacities over the years involving office, retail, multi family and golf course properties. He is currently a member of the Sperry Van Ness Asset Recovery Team – SVN ART - which is a team comprised of a select group of Brokers throughout the country with prior FDIC and RTC experience in dealing with the handling of troubled assets. Available services ART members can provide nationwide are Asset Evaluation, Property Preservation, Receivership & Property Management, Leasing, General Brokerage and In-House Auction Services.
Active in the industry, Sterling is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Missouri Association of Realtors and the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors. He earned his bachelor degree in Business and Communication from Avila University in Missouri and currently resides in Parkville, Missouri with his wife and three children.
